COMMERCIAL WEB DESIGN

Below is a re-invention I designed with stock photos of a top secret commercial web design project I worked on with an agency in Seattle, WA. My role on the project was as a Photoshop productionist and interaction developer / designer.

UCLA EXTENSION SCHOOL

This comp is based on the first responsive website I built for a Spring class at UCLA Extension School. The site uses CSS media queries to respond to the device size so that the design is optimized for viewing ports.

UCLA EXTENSION SCHOOL

I took a refresher HTML and CSS Web Design course through UCLA Extension School in the Spring of 2015. My student final project was a bootstrap demo for a solar power company (SSP). The project involved adding EventBrite, Google Calendars, Firehose Chat, Wufoo mail forms and addthis.com icons for social media sharing. I also used World Bank graphs to display information about energy in the United States compared with other countries. Shown here are some design and development examples from my student final project. This site was live and was built using progressive enhancement (mobile-first design) as opposed to graceful degredation which is a term given to the process of building the mobile wireframes based on an existing site.

ESTEE LAUDER

I spent several months as a freelance interaction designer and graphic designer for 3rd party newsletters at Estee Lauder’s office in New York City. I coded and designed lots of banners and rich media advertisements for them that included streaming audio / video of the CEO.

NEW YORK AND CO.

I spent almost 4 full years with New York & Company as an on-site HTML Producer for E-Commerce. New York and Company had me build customized email templates in Photoshop that I coded in HTML and PERL for a subscriber base. I also did a lot of Actionscript production on their site during holidays when they were busy.

I built almost 1000 templates annually for New York and Company. This is a Spring layout that used subtle pinks and blues to display our jeans promo.

SYMPHONY WEBSITE INTERACTION DESIGN and UI/UX PROJECT

Many years ago I was asked to worked on XML and Actionscript editing for an interactive seating chart that I believe was for the Chicago Symphony. I never took any screengrabs of the project to show what I was working on. So after studying bootstrap I was inspired to make something that I could use to discuss my old commercial projects. This could be a wordpress theme or bootstrap website with PHP logins. Also I had fun adding the UI elements for comments on each of the shows.
